What's on. Boswell Book Festival

Between 10 - 12 May 2019 Dumfries House will play host to the Boswell Book Festival – the world's only festival dedicated to biography and memoir.

The 9th edition of the festival will bring together a wide range of writers from around the world for a weekend of discussion and debate. The festival will open on Friday 10th with broadcaster Kirsty Wark, followed by a performance from vocalist Alfie Boe.

There will be a range of talks and discussions throughout the weekend with some of the highlights including Doddi Weir, Neil Oliver, Susan Calman, Tom Devine and Dame Sue Black.

The event is suitable for both young and old and the ever popular children's programme will also run alongside the main festival, including talks from Nick Sharatt and Kjartan Poskitt, as well as Vivian French.
