Events and Public Programmes Our STEM events and public programmes
About
At the STEM centre and wider estate, we host a number of events across the year linked in with our school activity such as the Family Science Day, Festival of Farming, Countryside Careers or career themed enrichment days and public open days. Many of our events are delivered with our STEM education partners such as the Engineering Development Trust (Industrial Cadets Celebration Event or the Go4Set programmes) or Young Engineers and Science Clubs, Ayrshire Science and Engineering Celebration day. Glasgow Science Centre spend two weeks on the estate each January delivering programmes to local schools.
We also deliver our programmes as part of outreach activity. In the last academic year, we attended fairs and events in Glasgow, Dumfries and Galloway, Stirling and various locations in Ayrshire.
Pupils who stay in our Residential Centre can spend time experimenting with science and take part in engineering challenges as part of their stay.
Each July we host a Family Science Day which allows the public to experience the world of science and engineering jobs and can help support and advise young people with their career choices.
