Knockroon. An attractive and traditional community on the Dumfries House Estate.

About

The vision for Knockroon is for it to be a clean and vibrant neighbourhood with green spaces, striking views and wildlife corridors. There will be shops to serve local and daily needs and workplaces for small businesses. Situated on the edge of the Dumfries House Estate, a wide range of leisure opportunities are at hand.

The Prince’s Foundation is taking forward Knockroon as a sustainable mixed-use development that will serve as a model community for Scotland. It is hoped and believed that this development will not only create employment and help bring prosperity to the area, but will in the longer-term generate profits to charitable causes, once loans associated with the development have been repaid. This project is part of an exciting new chapter in the history of Dumfries House and the surrounding area.

Knockroon has been designed to reflect the rich architectural tradition of Ayrshire. By drawing on the timeless language of traditional design, the community is being built to last and will continue to look beautiful for years to come. Streets and homes each have their own character and encourage a sense of community. A network of paths allows walking and cycling to Dumfries House, Cumnock, Auchinleck and beyond.
