About the Lodge
Dumfries House Lodge is an exclusive Michelin Key country guest house offering luxury accommodation.
Originally built in 1750 and renovated in 2012, the Lodge sits on the edge of the 2,000-acre Dumfries House estate, meaning you’re perfectly situated to explore all the Dumfries House estate and south west Scotland have to offer.

Dining at the Lodge
We offer breakfast and dinner service in our Lodge Restaurant. Hot breakfast is served from 8am-10am daily, and is included in the cost of your stay in our guest rooms.
We also offer in-house dining for evening meals for all guests, served from 6pm to 8pm in our Lodge Restaurant, available seven days a week. Please note tables must be booked 48 hours in advance. To book, please call the Lodge Reception on 01290 429920.
Facilities
You will have free and open access to our sitting rooms, dining room and garden area throughout your stay.
The cosy lounge and snug study, both with open log fires, are available for your use during the day and evening. Our guest rooms have all the modern facilities you would expect including LED Screens, WiFi and luxury tea and coffee-making facilities, as well as complimentary Arran Aromatics toiletries.

Can I bring a pet to stay at the Lodge?
Although we welcome furry friends on the estate, dogs are not allowed in our bed and breakfast rooms. Dogs are permitted to stay in self-catering units upon request, at an additional charge.

When can I dine at the Lodge?
Dinner is available at the Lodge from 6pm-8pm for guests only. We are happy to cater for all dietary requirements, but we kindly ask to be notified in advance.
We do require 24 hour notices for dinner reservations. Please call 01290 429920 or email the dhlodge.reception@kings-foundation.org to reserve your table.

Can I access the farm and/or view the education programmes?
Currently, there is no public access to the Valentine’s Farm or other education centres.
Please monitor our social media channels and website for information on tours, workshops and events at our education centres.

Where do I park?
Parking is free for Lodge residents. There are marked bays opposite the main Lodge building. Parking permits are issued to guests upon arrival at the Lodge. These permits last the duration of your stay, including your day of departure.

Are there EV chargers available?
We are delighted to announce we have four EV chargers at the Lodge.

Do you have twin occupancy?
Unfortunately, none of our B&B rooms are twin rooms. We do have two single occupancy rooms (rooms 5 and 7). Please speak to reception regarding self-catering bedrooms.

Which gardens can I access?
We have 2,000 acres for you to explore during your visit with many woodland walks and gardens to explore.
The Queen Elizabeth II Walled Garden and the Maze are the only area of the estate that have limited opening times. Find out more about visiting the estate and gardens.

Tours are appointment only. You can book your tours on our website or call 01290 427975.
Winter mid-week Lodge resident tours are available upon request. Please contact to Lodge reception regarding this prior to your stay.

Lodge guests can enter the estate through the entrance marked ‘Coaches and Deliveries’. The Lodge is the building on the left as you enter the estate at this entrance.
