As part of Chippendale 300, the nationwide celebration of the tercentenary year of Thomas Chippendale's birth, throughout 2018 Dumfries House in Ayrshire will host an exclusive programme dedicated to the celebrated 18th century cabinet maker.

The outstanding collection of early Chippendale furniture at Dumfries House will form tyhe heart of this exciting programme. In-house experts and guest speakers will provide a series of fascinating talks and insights which are designed to entertain and educate. All sessions are open to the novice, enthusiast and connoisseur alike, exploring the many facets relating to the time, life and work of Thomas Chippendale, the 'Shakespeare of English furniture making'/

Sessions finish with a cup of tea/coffee & shortbread and we are including two evening events with supper and dinner respectively in the stunning environment of Dumfries House.
