What's on. Women in Education - Women's Health Weekend
What: We are delighted to offer any women working in formal or community education the chance to attend our Women’s Health Weekend Programme with a focus on menopause. The Programme will be hosted at Dumfries House on Saturday 12th April and Sunday 13th April and it is a unique opportunity in response to demand that will enable staff attending time to share experiences with like minded people. The programme provides an integrative approach to creating good physical and mental wellbeing during menopause and recognises the importance of empowering women with knowledge and resources to actively participate in their health management. By addressing the physical, emotional and psychological aspects of menopause, an integrated approach enables women to navigate this life stage with confidence and resilience. Over the two days you will learn from various medical experts about menopause, associated symptoms and how best to manage these. Treatments covered include Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) , Nutritional therapy and psychological therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy, EMDR). You will also have plenty of time to relax and have fun whilst you experience some complementary therapy approaches such as Mindfulness, Yoga, Qi gong and Reflexology.
