What's on. Summer Kids Code Club
The King's Foundation's STEM team at Dumfries House is delighted to offer a 4-day Beginners Coding Club for children aged 10-15 years old.
Coding is everywhere, from our mobile phones to our cars, from farming to space, coding is a vital part of or modern society. Children are welcome to come and learn coding with us using the block coding software Scratch, but this is a coding club with a difference.
We have some problems in Scotland that need solving using computer coding. From keeping our farm healthy, to making sure our aeroplanes don’t crash. We will introduce the basics of block based coding on a Scratch. To start each day we will explore a real-world challenge through practical activities on the estate, then follow up by trying to code a solution to this problem.
This club is suitable for complete beginners to coding, young people who are familiar with block coding may find this club to be too simple.
