News. New Rothesay Garden

24th of July, 2014

The Rothesay Garden sits to the south of the House linking the Dumfries House Lodge with the Visitor Centre and the Coach House Café. This somewhat ‘secret garden’ designed by Michael Innes is hidden behind a tall yew hedge, and combines oriental and Scottish influences, in keeping with the 18th-century oriental influences within the main house. The garden offers a tranquil haven of peace and relaxation. Taking a seat outside the small teahouse, listening to the sounds of the passing stream, will transports you back in time, as a respite from the hustle and bustle of the 21st century.
