Dining experiences Discover our bespoke private dining experiences at Dumfries House
Since The King's Foundation opened Dumfries House to the public in 2008, we have offered visitors an insight into the history of the estate, its occupants and the House's collection. Our bespoke dining experiences are a unique way to experience Dumfries House.
The 18th Century Dining Experience
This dining experience will be authentic to the 1700s, with traditional butler service – including the meal being served ‘family-style’ – and a menu researched and prepared by our chefs that reflects the culinary fashions typical of country houses in that age.
The 18th Century Dining Experience, which takes place in the pink dining room within the House, is available on selected dates and starts from £375 per person.
Harvest Lunches
Our Harvest Lunches will take inspiration from the extensive produce grown in our education garden in the grounds of the estate.
The Harvest Lunch takes place in the estate’s Queen Elizabeth II Walled Garden, and will be available from August-October 2025 from £105 per person.
