Events and open days Our food and horticulture events and open days for the general public
At the Pierburg education garden, we host several events across the year linked in with our school activity such as the Festival of Farming, Family Science Day or career-themed enrichment days and public open days.
Pupils who stay in our residential centre can spend time in the garden. We also offer gardening and cooking classes to students on our wellbeing programmes who are keen to develop a positive lifestyle.
Each July we host an open day which allows the public a rare glimpse into the teaching curriculum and the philosophy behind the garden as well as an interactive experience.
We run a monthly evening class known as Make it Monday where members of the public can come and learn a new skill or hob. There are several offerings based in the education garden from practical gardening to craft led activities.
We are pleased to work along with a team of garden volunteers who enhance the smooth running of the garden. If you are interested in volunteering in our education garden, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
